On 24th January and 7th February, the Robotics4EU project will organise a workshop to validate and gather expert insight on its maturity assessment tool.
The workshop will take place over two sessions, from 9am to 12pm CET January 24th and February 7th , hosted both physically in LNE Paris and remotely. During these sessions, we will go through the list of requirements to be used by the assessment tool and discuss its potential applications and modifications.
The European Commission stresses the importance of responsible robotics, respectful of societal and human well-being and preserving the economic growth of the sector. Among many other examples, the European Parliament adopted in 2017 the Civil Law Rules on Robotics (2015/2103(INL)) that encourages the adoption of an ethical code of conduct for engineers, a liability legal regime protecting all stakeholders in the value chain, etc.
If you are a leading expert in innovation technology (as a robot developer or researcher), or if you are a regular robot user, we invite you to be part of this working group. The European Commission has recognized the importance of responsible robotics as a strategic objective, and measuring the maturity of your robots could provide a competitive advantage and research perspectives in the future.
In a future where the ethical aspects of technology are increasingly important, the use of social maturity assessment tools can constitute a competitive advantage. Therefore, participating in this initiative will help you to stay ahead of the curve by giving you a better understanding of where your industry/research/company stands in terms of maturity and what are the expectations for the future.
Place of venue: LNE Paris – Rue Gaston Boissier, 75015 Paris, France
