The first Robotics4EU Agile Production Workshop Series is about to take place on  June 16th, online, from 13h to 15h CEST.  Robotics4EU is organising an exciting workshop focused on agile production and its implications for the future. This is the first workshop in a series of workshops held for the purpose of:

  • Empowering the responsible robotics community and maximising the societal acceptance of robots in the different areas of focus of the project (healthcare, agile production, agri-food sector and inspection and maintenance of infrastructures).
  • Advise and broaden awareness about non-technological aspects of robotics, enable knowledge transfer and share good practices, as well as support debate around cutting-edge issues, ideas for practical solutions and establishment of networks that will support wider adoption of the principles of responsible robotics and adoption of (AI-based) robotics.

What is the mission?

The Beyond Industry 4.0: Re-skilling the labour force & the Future of agile production workshop aims to explore the future of agile production and its impact on various industries. With the help of robotics, agile production has the potential to transform the way we manufacture and meet the ever-changing demands of the market.

During this workshop, we will engage in expert talks and open discussions to address important questions related to agile production. We will delve into topics such as the social implications of this shift, concerns about job displacement, and strategies for upskilling the workforce to embrace the opportunities presented by robotics.

Who are the speakers?

Our workshop chair, Silvia Ecclesia, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the event. Silvia, a PhD Candidate at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture (KULT), Norwegian University of Science and technology (NTNU), researches power dynamics in future imaginaries of Artificial Intelligence in the context of work. She contributes to the Horizon Europe project “BIAS: Mitigating diversity biases in the labour market” and the Horizon 2020 project “Robotics4EU: Robots within and for Society.”

Joining us as keynote speakers are industry experts who will share their insights and experiences:

  • “RoboTwin – upskilling workers to robot teachers” by Ladislav Dvorak,  CEO of RoboTwin

Ladislav Dvorak brings his expertise from the automotive industry, specifically in the field of autonomous driving. As the company’s CEO, he oversees a wide range of responsibilities including company operations, team management, talent acquisition, and financial matters.

  • “Social challenges in human-centric factories and the application of Industry 5.0 technologies” by Dr. Angel Dacal-Nieto, “Factory of the Future” Area Manager at CTAG – Automotive Technology Center of Galicia

Dr. Dacal-Nieto is a Computer Science Engineer with a PhD in Intelligent Software Systems with over 16 years of experience in applying ICT in manufacturing, particularly automotive and expertise in intelligent software, automation, AI, and robotics. He will discuss the social challenges in human-centric factories and the application of Industry 5.0 technologies.
