In the realm of robotics for the agile production sector, addressing matters concerning data protection and data privacy stands out as one of the foremost non-technical challenges. This encompasses safeguarding personal identifiable information (PII) by tackling data breaches, ensuring compliance with GDPR, and fortifying data security against cyberattacks.

These elements collectively serve as essential pillars supporting the smooth and socially responsible integration of robotic solutions within agile production processes. Given the increasing autonomy and collaboration capabilities of our robotic systems, there is no room for data negligence.

Scheduled from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM CEST, this workshop is designed to offer a platform for expert talks and open discussions among stakeholders from the robotics community. The primary focus of these conversations will revolve around the data challenges faced by the robotics community in the agile production sector.

During the span of two hours, our aim is to thoroughly examine these critical issues, with the goal of collectively exploring and addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with data management when integrating robotics solutions in agile production.

Our first keynote speaker is Athina Sachoulidou, who is affiliated with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (as Assistant Professor in Criminal Law) and NOVA School of Law (as Visiting Senior Researcher). Her presentation will focus on “Criminal Liability and Robotics: A Call for Transformation”.

Our second keynote speaker is Professor Winston Maxwell, Director of Law and Technology Studies at Télécom Paris, Institut Polytechnique de Paris, who will debate the “Effective human oversight of AI systems – key enablers and obstacles“.
